Why Letting Go of Negative Thoughts is Both the Easiest and Hardest Thing To Do

I appreciate you and all your efforts. Your path to healing is certain. To negativity, what do we say? “Never again”

–          Message from the Universe

Have you ever walked around and took in the sights? Like, really allow it to sink in? Yes, everything you see was once just thoughts.

Thoughts are exceptionally powerful. What you’re thinking of now can be your reality next. We tend to underestimate how our thoughts can manifest into life quickly. That’s why it’s essential to let go of negativity. Any negativity you have right now, I hope you find the will to let it all go.

And I am telling you, letting go of negativity is both the easiest and hardest thing to do.

Easy because if you can do it once, you’ll know that you can keep doing it over and over – until any negative thought will be a fleeting moment.

Hard because you’ve gotten used to dwelling and lingering on the negativity. Maybe you’ve been holding on to the rejections, fears, failures, and doubts, and you can’t find it in you to let it all go.

Allow me to walk you through the path of letting go of all the negativity in your life. Ready? Let’s go.

  1. Identify Where it All Began

It is time to pause and reflect on the negative thoughts that have been clouding your mind. When did it all begin? What is the root of this negative thought? Are you surrounded by negative people? These people are those who do not have the same energy and vibration as you. If they are not healthy for you, it is time to let them go.

Some negative thoughts may be based on fear, guilt, anxiety, and insecurities. The best thing you can do is find out any unresolved issue in your life and start from that.

  1. Your Mind is Not a Hotel

…and your thoughts aren’t guests you should take care of. More often than not, negative thoughts can just randomly hit you at any time of the day. You’re having a great time with your family or friends, then BAM! It hits you like an over speeding car. Now, your next action will define you. Will you treat it as a visitor that you can walk out the door? Or will you treat it like a guest and let it eat your happiness away buffet style?

Your mind is not a hotel. It is your safe place. It is your haven. Treat it that way. When negative thoughts come knocking, acknowledge them, and let them go.

  1. Practice Self-talk

Self-talk is your internal dialogue. It’s your conversation with yourself. Sometimes, I even narrate what I’m doing in my head. I’ll be driving, and I’ll catch myself thinking: “I can’t wait to get home. Oh wait, I think I’m driving too slow, I might need to speed up a little. There you go. Good job, Jace.”

But when you train your mind about your self-talk, you can talk to yourself positively and with confidence. Begin with writing a short affirmation that you can practice as you fall in line in a coffee shop or while you’re driving.

To permanently let go of negativity, you must tune in to yourself. Listen inward. The main goal is to be gentle and genuine with yourself.

The following are self-talk samples you can start with:

I can do it. It’s okay if I make a mistake.

If I want to do it, I can do it.

I am amazing. I am a wonderful being.
